Nestled at the foot of the mountains and just 30 minutes from the town of Singleton, is the gorgeous Lake St Clair. Alongside the shores of the lake is the Lake St Clair campground, offering low-cost camping with 12 powered sites plus 38 hectares of unpowered camping.
There are a limited number of powered sites available, but for unpowered camping, the Lake St Clair campground offers 38 hectares of unpowered camping, with toilets, hot showers, potable water, camp kitchen, picnic tables and BBQs.
The Lake St Clair camping area also offers a boat ramp for those keen to catch a feed of bass or perch and other watersports, such as canoeing and skiing. While dogs are welcomed here, they must be kept on a leash at all times.
Guests will need a boom gate code to enter and exit the park. There is also very limited phone service, so you are best off making your booking and any important phone calls before you drive out to Lake St Clair.
We did have a little trouble with finding an area in the unpowered section that was fairly level for the caravan, but we eventually found somewhere to park up for the night, so make sure you carry levelling ramps!
